Low growing, attractive groundcover for dry sunny areas. This California native sage will bring all sorts of wildlife to your yard. Don't let the name scare you, these bees are only here to enjoy themselves and spread happiness.

Bee’s Bliss Sage is a hybrid of another California native, Purple Sage, and is grown as an attractive groundcover in full sun to part shade. While the name may conjure images of 70′s b-movie (no pun intended) “Swarm” for some people, I like the idea of encouraging honey bees into our yard. So far this year we have seen a few already but they come mainly just to drink from the birdbath since there is not much currently blooming. They may also be looking for nesting sites but I speculate.

This low lying shrub is drought tolerant although it doesn’t mind a little supplemental moisture in hot summers. It is a fast grower to 4′ or 5′ wide and not much more than 1′ high. The flower stalks may grow a little taller. In addition to Bees, Salvia Bee’s Bliss is enjoyed by hummingbirds, butterflies and like many other sages the foliage has a pleasant aroma.
