Welcome to my new Garden Journal.

I’ve made this online journal to help keep track of the goings-on in my little Patio Garden at home here in Camarillo, CA. About three months ago my wife and I had a nice chap from Moorpark come over and bash up a 60 square foot section of concrete (about 3′ x 20′) next to our wall separating us from Camarillo Springs Golf Course. That gave us a bunch of planting space to put in all sorts of California native plants and a few similarly drought tolerant species from Mediterranean climates in other parts of the world.

In the last three months we’ve planted some stuff, removed some stuff, swapped some stuff around and gone through the process of trial and error that’s not likely to end any time soon. It’s a rewarding hobby and as long as I can continue to avoid incoming golf balls I intend to track the evolution of Currie Native Garden right here in this blog thingy. While the journal is primarily for my own benefit, I’m hoping it’ll become a useful resource, so visit back often!

Special thanks to Maw, who funded the big concrete smash-up. Thanks Maw!!!
