California Mountain Lilac, the first of three Ceanothus plants in my patio garden. Moderately fast grower and pretty spring bloomer.
This past weekend I planted the latest addition to the garden. A native California shrub named Bush Anemone (Carpenteria Californica).
Morning Glory is a fast growing vine native to California’s Channel Islands. The large white and pink flowers are a favorite of butterflies, hummingbirds, bees and mine.
Introduction to our purple colored Bougainvillea. This cheerful addition to the patio garden is attractive to butterflies and bees and will hopefully become a screen plant on the west wall.
Fast growing hybrid vine from South America. This will hopefully hide our A/C unit behind abundant clusters of bright orange bracts.
The reddish pink variety of our three Brazilian shrubby vines, the Bougainvillea ‘Barbara Karst’.
Narrow Leaf Milkweed isn’t a showy flower but it’s not a weed either. It is in fact a crucial plant in helping to support the struggling Monarch Butterfly population.
The Howard McMinn Manzanita is a slow growing shrub which will eventually reach 6′x6′. White/pink flowers in the winter and edible berries in spring and summer.
